An excellent location for York City Centre, very close to shops, bars, restaurants etc. 5 mins walk to centre and 2 mins to the local shop and bar. The train station is approx 20 mins walk and the nearest bus stop is 2 mins away.

The house itself is furnished with all the usual mod cons such as washing machine, dishwasher etc. and also wireless internet. The room can be provided furnished or unfurnished. The price would include all utility bills including council tax and interent. Permit parking is operated in this area and would be an additional cost of £45.75 per quarter. Not ideal for pets as there is no garden but a balcony

It would be sharing with a single young professional female who is very outgoing, enjoys socialising, keeping fit and having friends round.

Must be seen to appreciate the size of the room and house that is on offer here!

Taxis

You can choose either Private Hire vehicles which must be booked in advance, either by phone or at a booking office, or Hackney Carriage taxis which are available at taxi ranks or can be hailed in the street, if the yellow Taxi sign is illuminated.

You can find the Hackney Carriage taxis at the following locations (be prepared to queue at some of the ranks, especially during the summer ):

The shambles is a lovely little street that is not to be missed on a trip to York. For a good look around go early in the morning, or out of peak times as it gets full of people later in the day.
Just a great little piece of York history, i always feel like ive steped back in time when i walk down here…until i see 20 people taking photographs!

It is always a nice place to look at a variety of shops and interesting places and is great if you are a tourist or visitor and to buy gifts to take home to family and friends.
It is quite a long street and there are some side streets you can go down and also some Public House Establishments and other such type places that you
can visit either day or night.
It is also just a nice street to take a general stroll down as when you come to the end of The Shambles then the York Minster is not too far away which is also a nice place to visit.

Thought I'd start up a new topic...

We went to this house in search for some scary ghost stories and got more then we bargained for!

When you enter the house you are asked to wait if there are other people in the house already so that you dont meet them on the stairs this way you would be the only person in the house unless you go with a group.

My partner and I went in thinking it wasn't going to be scary and thought that it would be tame but we were wrong! The house is 700 years old and a lot of it has been untouched when you go from room to room you automatcially trigger the audio guide which informs you about the happenings in that room. Be prepared for some very dark rooms with the audio as your only companion or is it!!

The room that scared me the most was the Séance room it is very very dark and the tales are spinchilling. We had to take photos to see where we were in the room when you are asked to leave the room you can't find the door or the small handle which makes you feel that you have been locked in.
